THE RE-WRITE

Sale Price: $11.00 Original Price: $19.00

The story follows Temi Ojo, a struggling, plus-size British-Nigerian writer living in South London. After her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Wale Bandele, comes to a sudden and painful end, Wale goes on to star in The Villa—a hit Love Island-style reality dating show. On the show, he is edited into the villain of the season and gains a reputation as a player.

Heartbroken, Temi channels her frustration into her writing, creating a bitter revenge novel based on their messy breakup. However, her publishing career stalls, and her bills pile up. Desperate for income, she takes on a freelance ghostwriting assignment for a celebrity memoir—only to discover that her high-profile client is none other than Wale.

Wale wants to write a memoir to clear his name, share his side of the story, and shed the toxic "fuckboy" persona projected on him by reality TV. Forced to work closely together, Temi is caught between the past and the present. As she interviews Wale, she realizes she never really knew the full truth behind his actions or his personal struggles.

While their spark reignites, Temi faces a major dilemma: her secret revenge manuscript—which paints Wale in a terrible light—is still circulating among literary agents, threatening to blow up their second chance at love and his fragile reputation.
